The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join an established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in East Sussex.
This is a hands-on workshop-based role, working on the manufacture of high-quality bespoke metal components and structures used within innovative roof terrace systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality fabrications to drawings and specifications, with a strong focus on weld quality, presentation and attention to detail.

The Role
As a TIG Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for:
- TIG welding and fabricating metal components and assemblies.
- Working primarily with stainless steel and aluminium.
- Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing materials.
- Setting up and operating TIG welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Producing clean, accurate and consistent welds to a high standard.
- Carrying out fabrication, fitting and finishing work as required.
- Checking completed work to ensure it meets required dimensions and quality standards.
- Working from prototypes, drawings and bespoke designs.
- Using a range of workshop machinery and hand tools.
- Identifying and resolving fabrication or welding issues.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Working closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and design.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a TIG Welder, Welder Fabricator or similar.
- Strong TIG welding experience.
- Experience working with stainless steel and/or aluminium.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good fabrication and fitting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A high standard of workmanship and pride in finished products.
- The ability to work accurately to measurements and tolerances.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
- A strong understanding of workshop health and safety.
Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications would be advantageous, but practical experience, welding ability and quality of workmanship are the key requirements.
