Are you an experienced Manual Turner looking for a long-term role where your engineering skills really matter?
We’re working with an established engineering business in East Sussex that is looking for a skilled Manual Turner to join its machine shop. You’ll be producing small, high-precision metal components, working to tight tolerances and taking pride in getting things right first time.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating manual lathes and mills
- Machining small metal components to exact specifications
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Working to tight tolerances and high-quality finishes
- Using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and bore micrometers
- Carrying out basic inspection of completed components
- Completing relevant production documentation
- Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally be a time-served Manual Turner with solid hands-on experience using manual lathes and mills.
You’ll need:
- Proven experience in manual turning and milling
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience working to high tolerances
- Good knowledge of precision measuring equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- A strong focus on quality and safe working practices
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience working within a machine shop environment would be advantageous.
